Angels Smile 

A love song that Simina sings with sensitivity and clearly about falling in love with someone who is unable to return it, so should connect with the experience of many people, I sort of had Joss Stone or Amy Winehouse in mind with the backing tracks, with a small blues club feel – well that’s what I had in mind – it has evolved over time and has been to a certain extent rewritten to suit Simina.

 

Love is

I wanted to keep this simple with a few synth textures, piano and strings no drums. Originally a love song more about love as a state but now made more personal as human relationships always are. Still needs a fine tune but what the hell.

 

 

Stoned Rose

Very much about the physical loss of someone you love and the mortality we all share, again Simina does a great job and I had great fun pretending to be a sax player in the middle 8 – Yes its an ensoniq sample – chorus is a bit hooky too.

 

 

One more

At last some real guitar not much but enough to give it a latin flavour. It’s about performing on stage and the love that is always there supporting you, supporting your creativity, is it a power from within or a person? written several  years ago before I met Simina and yet fits who she is when performing, she sang this easily without fuss and yet it was not her favourite song, but I really like it. 

 

Little People

A song written some time ago which has evolved  into its present incarnation. You can read much into its meaning with sound clips taken from the radio and television around the time of the phone tapping scandals, so possibly controversial, but it’s up to you. 

 

 

Storm Bright

an instrumental 6:20 mins that belongs to a ‘Jarrish’ period. With this one I can’t help but think of nineties SciFi. – I have revised the drum and bass tracks and written the lyrics for a vocal part, some old some brand new and shortened it for the next revision, we hope to have it recorded soon.

 

 

 

Well its starting to take shape and with the addition of a totally acoustic track we will have a collection of 7 songs and when fine tuned downloadable in a couple of months (albeit a little eclectic).
